It was absolutely a slap in the face to epubbed authors. It was like they were putting on a show, pretending to care, but at the last minute tucked tail and ran. Or at least that is how I viewed it. The time for change is now. While at Nationals I attened an epub workshop (not officially hosted by RWA conference, but done seperately - I believe) and it was sooooo worth it. The vibe in the room was excitment about this new era we are entering. They even said that in 2008 the Kindle sales (so not even including the Sony ereader!) was 500,000 units! Uhm. HELLO?! Isn't that fact enough that there is something to this epub business? But that's just my two cents.
If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.............................................
